VMware

VMware discount offer ends June 2, 2008

VMware, software that allows a single workstation to run multiple operating systems, has entered into an agreement with UCOP to provide a 65% discount on perpetual licenses and a 44% discount on support purchases and support contract renewals. The term of this offer is through June 2, 2008.

Purchases are aggregated every two months. This is the last call for orders.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

If your department would like to purchase VMware, orders must be placed through UCOP which will execute the purchases and recharge departments at no additional cost. This is the only way to take advantage of this special pricing.

UCOP is purchasing through Govplace, a VMware reseller, and the license keys will be distributed by UCOP to campuses via email. We're using electronic delivery only, so we pay no sales tax on license or support purchases.

Please note that first year support contract purchase is mandatory. Here is a template (application/vnd.ms-excel, 18.9 kB, info) for the products you wish to order. Return your orders directly to tracy.yuan@ucop.edu by June 2, 2008 to qualify for this order. The licenses will be distributed electronically in July, 2008.

There are two GovPlace price lists (1 (application/msword, 140.8 kB, info), 2 (application/msword, 139.8 kB, info)) with sales contacts. The contacts are provided to help you determine the appropriate items for your department - do not purchase your VMware directly from GovPlace. Please contact VMware directly if you have any VMware related questions.
