ActiveSync & BlackBerry Enterprise Security Implementation Schedule
Security measures will be applied to both ActiveSync and BlackBerry personal digial assistants (PDAs). The plan is to stagger the implementation; first applying the security measures to ActiveSync devices, then following up with BlackBerry devices.

Schedule for ActiveSync Device Implementation

Monday, August 11, ActiveSync will be disabled by default. Existing ActiveSync customers will be "grandfathered" in. New customers wishing to connect an ActiveSync device will now submit a request to the appropriate Service Desk (OAAIS, Medical Center, SOM) to enable the service. Enrollees will receive an email message describing security measures.

Thursday, September 04, The Phase I security measures are applied. These include; enforced passwords on the device, a minimum password length, an inactivity interval and security rules refresh.

- Device reset (erase) after 7 failed password attempts
