MyAccess: One ID - One Password
In support of the UCSF Strategic Plan initiative to improve access and delivery of information technology services, the Office of Academic and Administrative Information Systems (OAAIS) will be working closely with our Campus colleagues to establish MyAccess profiles for all applicable faculty, staff and students, beginning this November, 2008.
What is MyAccess?
MyAccess is an account system that will bring the Campus community closer to using one user ID and one password for all computer systems. Over time, members of the community will use their MyAccess account for more and more services, which means fewer logins and passwords to keep track of.
The Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Campus Wireless are two of the first services for which you will use your MyAccess ID and password.
VPN migration will take place over the next three months so those affected will be able to incorporate the change into their workflow without service disruption. Implementation begins November 17 for identified pilot departments. OAAIS Customer Support Services (CSS) will be working collaboratively with departmental Computer Support Coordinators (CSCs) to schedule the rest of the campus community by February 2009.
The campus wireless transition will begin in January, 2009.
Further information will be sent via email and posted to the OAAIS MyAccess Project webpage. For further information about the MyAccess service, visit the OAAIS Service Catalog MyAccess webpage.
We appreciate your support throughout this process and look forward to a smooth and successful transition. If you have any questions or concerns regarding MyAccess, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jann Fong
Identity and Access Services Manager
