VPN@UCSF and Pubmed: November 19, 2008

WHAT’S HAPPENING:

OAAIS/EIS has received reports that users who access and search Pubmed using the SSL VPN system’s Library bookmark cannot view their complete search results.  When the user clicks the Next button to advance to the next page of the search results, the page stays on the 1st page of the search instead of advancing.

OAAIS/EIS has verified that this is a problem with the SSL VPN system and is working with Juniper to resolve the problem.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

If you need to perform a PubMed search, please use the Network Connect application available from the VPN home page. Once the Network Connect application has been launched, you can then open a new browser session and browse straight to the UCSF Library website www.library.ucsf.edu, then click on PubMed@UCSF on the top of the page to start your PubMed search. Once the issue has been resolved, we will post an announcement in this space.

Once you’ve launched Network Connect from the VPN Home page once, you can then launch it from your computer as a standalone application in future uses.  For more in-depth instructions, please click the link to the VPN Quick Start Guide available from the Home page in the VPN system.
