Entourage 2008 Web Proxy Configuration

Step 4 The Exchange Server field information has been updated to reflect new configuration settings for connecting to Exchange 2007.**

Desktop requirements

*Full Exchange functionality ONLY available on the Office 2008 and Office 2008 Special Media editions. The Office 2008 Home and Student edition supports POP and IMAP access only.

Configuration Recommendations

Setting up Entourage 2008 Web Proxy Connection

  1. Launch Entourage (if this is the first time you will immediately be brought to the setup assistant). Go to the Tools menu and select Accounts.

  2. Click the Down Arrow next to New and select Exchange....

  3. Enter your reply-to email address in the email address field. Verify that the "My account is on an Exchange server" box is checked. Click the "Configure account manually" button in the lower left-hand corner of the Account Setup Assistant window.

  4. On the Account Settings tab, enter your information into the following fields:
    • Account Name: This is a display field to identify your UCSF email account within Entourage
    • Name: Enter your name in this field
    • E-mail address: Verify that your mail@UCSF reply-to email address is in this field
    • Account ID: Enter your mail@UCSF username into the field
    • Domain: Enter the domain name "campus" into this field
    • Password: Entering your password here and saving it in the Mac OS Keychain is optional.
    • **Exchange Server: Enter exchange.ucsf.edu/exchange/firstname.lastname@ucsf.edu into this field (Information in this field has been reformatted in Exchange 2007. Use of departmentally specific reply-to email addresses requires the fully qualified path where firstname.lastname is the default email address for the customer's account.  )  
    • Check the box next to "This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)"
    • Click the Advanced tab

  5. Enter the information for the Public folders and LDAP (address book) servers.
    • Public folders server: Enter exchange.ucsf.edu/public/
    • Check the box next to "This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)"
    • LDAP server: Enter campus03.campus.net.ucsf.edu
    • Check the box next to "This server requires me to log on"
    • Click the OK button

  6. You will be prompted for your password** if you did chose to not save it to your Mac OS Keychain . Enter your password in the respective field.

  7. You have completed the account configuration.
