Windows 9x, NT, 2000, XP Server 2003, and Vista.

(NOTE: This release for Windows of Sophos Enterprise Anti-Virus is version 5.2. If you're running an earlier version of Sophos Enterprise Anti-Virus for Windows, you should have already been updated to SAV version 5.2. You may need to reboot your computer if you haven't done so recently to complete the upgrade process. If you are still running Sophos Anti-Virus version 4 or earlier, you should follow the instructions for uninstalling that version before installing SAV version 5.2.)

Macintosh OS-X 10.2+ Universal Binaries

(NOTE: This release of Sophos Enterprise Anti-Virus is version 4.7.2 for Mac OS-X (10.2+) and adds support for Intel chipset Macs. This version is preconfigured with auto-update and anti-virus policies, but is not managed by the Enterprise console. Please be vigilant in checking your logs for errors or signs of update failures and report any problems to OAAIS Customer Support at 415-514-4100, option 2.)

(Note: The downloadable files contain the configuration information needed to automatically update virus definitions from the central UCSF Sophos servers. UCSF requires that these servers be used for updates. Clients not using these pre-configured servers will be considered unlicensed and not covered by the UCSF-Sophos agreement. Please follow the instructions provided within each distribution on how to properly set up auto-update.)

UCSF provides this software without support or warrantee. It is provided to enable Campus users to protect their systems and information from malicious software as part of the UCSF Campus Sophos license. OAAIS Customer Support will not be able to assist with any questions regarding the installation, use or removal of this software.

There is no campus Listserv devoted to Sophos product discussion.

Maintenance (updates):

The centralized OAAIS Sophos Enterprise servers automatically push updates to clients as they become available from Sophos. No user interaction is required.
