Information Security
Jon distributed a status report from OAAIS Enterprise Information Security on the Medical Device Project.
The Authorized and Acceptable Use and Network Security Monitoring policies recommended by the Information Security Committee were approved.
TIM/TAM
Larry emphasized the importance of enterprise-wide coordination on the deployment of AuthN/AuthZ. The Group decided to be the primary governing body for the rollout. A Steering Committee will be charged to support this effort.
ACTION ITEM: Opinder and Karen will draft a charge for the steering committee.
Learning Management System
Karen Butter reported the Library is working with academic stakeholders to evaluate Moodle and Sakai as possible replacements for WebCT, which is now owned by Blackboard. A decision is expected shortly. The Medical Center is proceeding with plans to use SumTotal, a hosted learning management system (LMS) currently being deployed on behalf of all UC campuses by UCOP.
ACTION ITEM: Karen will share analyses of the course management system options with the Group.
School of Medicine
Opinder distributed a chart of the ISU’s new organizational structure. The ISU is outsourcing certain projects such as the next version of Ilios, a locally developed curriculum management system for medical education.
Other Items
Jon reported OAAIS is close to signing a contract with AT&T for NGMAN. Deployment should take about 18 months.
The agenda for the upcoming ITGC meeting was discussed with approval deferred until Randy could be consulted.
