Tuesday, May 6, 2008
11:00 a.m. - noon CL 101
Present
H. Schmidt, co-Chair
O. Bawa, J. Cox, A. Dobson
New MyAccess Manager
Jann Fong, the new MyAccess program manager, was introduced. Jann will provide overall program coordination; lead deployment analysis and implementation; manage stakeholder communications and oversee change management.
Project Team & Progress
The committee was provided a list of project team members and their roles.
The project team will deliver the first production release of MyAccess on May 23. The Gartner portal and OAAIS wireless services will be integrated with the May 23 launch. AutoAccess, the access management application used by access administrators for Mainframe systems and Weblinks, will be integrated June 2.
Ann Dobson asked whether the collaborative learning environment (CLE) could be the next case study presentation. CLE is going live in the fall and the Library needs to determine whether to use MyAccess or Galen for access. Heidi, Andrew, and Jann will meet with Ann and library systems administrator Tim Macdonald after May 23 to discuss capacity issues and requirements for CLE/MyAccess integration.
Wireless Access Schema
Heidi distributed an access schema for the wireless LAN under construction by OAAIS/Enterprise Network Services. Questions about the schema’s security were posed. Members wondered whether the amount of configuration needed for a laptop to access the network were accurate. Would there be a way to direct students (who do not have computer support) directly to the protected network? Security Engineer Seán Schluntz can attend a future meeting to explain the schema if necessary.
Questions and Concerns
Members remarked that the newest systems must have the highest priority for MyAccess integration.
Will the LDAP Directory be addressed at the next briefing?
MyAccess manager Jann Fong will provide a roadmap at the next meeting.
